Crossed Bearings

The trawler Kittiwake, the Barents Sea · February 1961

For three nights someone has been wirelessing the Soviet Northern Fleet from somewhere in the Barents Sea. Two direction-finding stations have taken bearings. This morning the Hull trawler Kittiwake's cook went over the side, and the Admiralty's numbers are on the radio-room desk waiting for someone to plot them.
