What do Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert mean?
How many suspects, how many red herrings, and how deep the deduction goes.
- Easy: four or so suspects and one clear chain of clues. A good first case. Worth up to 120 points.
- Medium: more suspects, each with an innocent secret that makes them look guilty. Worth up to 240 points.
- Hard: the key fact is hidden behind a second deduction, and some places stay locked until you've found something else. Worth up to 360 points.
- Expert: for seasoned armchair detectives. A large cast, more than one convincing wrong answer, clues that only make sense together, few hints, and a long accusation. Worth up to 480 points.
